Operational life of the White Sea-Baltic Canal hydraulic structures in 2025

The Federal State Budgetary Institution “BELOMORKANAL Administration” has informed shipowners about the operational dates of the White Sea-Baltic Canal’s hydraulic structures in 2025:

• The Southern Slope (locks 1-9) will operate until October 31, 2025;
• The Northern Slope (locks 10-19) will operate until October 15, 2025.

Under favorable weather conditions, the operation of the Northern Slope locks (locks Nos. 10-19) of the White Sea-Baltic Canal has been extended, subject to compensation for the cost of maintaining the hydraulic structures. However, under any circumstances, the operation will be completed no later than 24:00 on October 31, 2025.
The advance payment for vessel passage is calculated based on the daily maintenance cost of the Northern Slope locks of the White Sea-Baltic Canal – 412,279.60 rubles, including VAT. The fee is divided proportionally among all objects passed.

Vessels with a draft not exceeding 3.4 meters may also be passed during the specified period.
