Morwenna Discusses International Projects at BreakBulk, Dubai

The annual BreakBulk Middle East 2024 exhibition was held in Dubai on 12-13 February. The event featured stands of international freight forwarding companies: from the UAE, Oman, Turkey, China, India, Kazakhstan and other CIS countries. Our company is constantly expanding the geography of transport, so we took part as delegates and confirmed our international logistics capabilities.

Many freight forwarding companies spoke openly about co-operation with Russia, in particular Russian shipping companies. International carriage of cargoes – both general and oversized – is planned for the 2024-2026 energy projects in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. It should be noted that it is planned to transport cargoes for these projects by transit through the RIWRS. This will create an increase in cargo traffic from Turkey to the Caspian Sea, despite the existing restrictions in the Black Sea.

The event was definitely productive. Most of the participating companies were already familiar with Morwenna, which is known as a carrier of OOG in large-scale international projects. Our company has achieved high recognisability and reputation due to TCO project, Saipem project and KPI project.

At meetings with current customers and prospective partners we discussed fleet availability. As a reminder, we operate with 28 tugs and 36 barges, including 4 barges of project 03060, acquired in December 2023. Besides the cost of freight from Haydarpasha, Novorossiysk and St Petersburg to Kazakhstan (Bautino, Atyrau) was discussed. In addition, the talks touched upon the cost and possibility of leasing barges and tugs under the Russian flag in the UAE, India and Turkey.
