Morwenna took part in HEAVY CASPIAN 2026

Representatives of Morwenna Shipping Company once again attended the industry conference HEAVY CASPIAN 2026, which took place in Almaty. This year, the event brought together over 90 participants from 11 countries. The event confirmed its status as a key dialogue platform for project and oversized logistics in the Caspian and Central Asian regions.

The business program covered a wide range of pressing topics: from military risks on key sea routes and the legal qualification of force majeure to the challenges posed by the shallowing of the Caspian Sea and the shortage of fitting platforms. The participants also focused on multimodal logistics under geopolitical constraints, technological trends (including the licensing of SPMT operators), and the shift in priorities towards more predictable Chinese routes.

Participation in this platform is particularly relevant for our company because we hold customs carrier licences and have a successful track record of projects delivered via the Volga-Don Shipping Canal (VDSC) and the Volga-Baltic Canal (VBC). Of particular interest are our case studies of delivering complex project cargo to the Caspian:
— to Atyrau via the Ural-Caspian Canal for the KPI project;
— to Prorva for the Tengizchevroil project;
— to Baku for the Total Absheron project.
In addition, our project portfolio includes the unique experience of transporting an autoclave for a gold mining hydrometallurgical plant in Pavlodar.

Taking part in HEAVY CASPIAN 2026 allowed Morwenna Shipping Company not only to reaffirm its status as a reliable operator of project cargo transportation in the region but also to identify new avenues for cooperation with leading market players from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Turkey and China.
