Notification of allowable period for commercial transits

Vessel entry to the Volga-Don will be suspended as from December 7, while the locks will operate until December 10.

The Volga-Don Canal Authority has notified shipowners on the 2024 shipping season cancellation in the basin. Morwenna Shipping Company reminds that oversized cargo can still be transported through inland waterways.

Thus, Volgograd hydro-engineering complex will allow ship passages through December 10, 2024, subject to recovery costs by shipowners for the hydraulic engineering structures maintenance.

Locks No. 1-13 of the Volga-Don Shipping Canal, as well as No. 14 and 15 of the Tsimlyansk Hydroelectric Complex will allow vessel passages as from December 1 through December 10, 2024, also subject to recovery costs by shipowners for the hydraulic engineering structures maintenance. At the same time, entry into the pool will not be allowed as of December 7, 2024, at midnight (Moscow Time).

In the presence of ice conditions, vessels without an ice class will not be allowed into the pool.

Morwenna’s fleet will be available for time-charter at the end of shipping navigation, including the company’s own ice class vessels.
