Morwenna at the 2nd Russian Maritime Congress

The second edition of Russian Maritime Congress, an important event in the maritime sector, took place September 24-25 in Moscow. The biennial forum brought together more than 1,000 participants from different countries to address key issues and prospects of the maritime industry. Morwenna Shipping traditionally took part in the event.

Besides, Morwenna acted as a sponsor of the forum’s coffee break, a convenient networking platform for participants on the sidelines of the congress business programme. The “Course for cheerfulness” motto on the cups was to set participants in the right mood to kick-start a successful day.

One of the forum’s events was the conference titled “Development of the Great Northern Sea Route: The Route Is Ready”. Participants discussed current issues of infrastructure and prospects for the development of the NSR. This issue is of particular priority for Morwenna taking into account that 19 vessels of its fleet are currently operating on the route during this shipping season.

The congress also hosted a foresight session “Personnel in the Maritime Industry: Forecast 2050” to discuss the problems and long-term prospects for training personnel for the maritime industry. Morwenna actively supports young specialists, annually opening up to 60 positions for cadets and students of maritime universities, providing an opportunity for their professional growth and gaining field experience.
