On April 1 and 2, a major XI international forum HEAVY CASPIAN was held in Tashkent.

This event was attended by representatives from Uzbekistan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia and Turkey.

The event was devoted to topical issues of oversized and heavy cargo transportation in the strategically important region covering the South Caucasus, the Caspian Sea and Central Asian countries. Special attention was paid to the transportation of SGCs through the VDSC.

During the forum the following topics were discussed in detail:

– Experience of oversized cargo delivery to Uzbekistan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, comparison of transportation routes;

– Possibilities of ports for transshipment of project cargoes and especially ports of Kazakhstan;

– Operation of the Trans-Caspian Corridor for project cargoes;

Special attention was paid to the discussion of industrial equipment logistics for large projects: Silleno, KazAzot, CCPP Turkestan, gas chemical complex in Surkhandarya, Fergana Oil Refinery, Samarkand Chemical Complex and others.

Meanwhile we’ve had a chance to inform all the visitors about our status of the customs carrier, as well as about the implemented projects of transportation through Volga-Don river Canal and Volga-Balt Canal to the Caspian Sea: to Atyrau through the Ural-Caspian Canal under the KPI project, to Prorva under the, to Baku under the Total Absheron project

The Forum confirmed its importance as a platform for professional dialog and search for innovative and non-standard solutions in the field of logistics.
