Project Summary: 

Period: October 3–30 (including loading and unloading operations), with the actual transit taking place from October 6–20, 2025.

Route: Saint Petersburg – Perm (Nizhnie Mully).

Total route length: 2,798 km along Russia’s inland waterways (IWW).

Fleet: Tugboat “OT-2080” and barge “Beluga-1”.

Cargo: Oil and gas equipment, weight – 1,350.3 tons.

PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION:

Under the cargo stowage plan, the maximum height on the barge deck reached 7.6 m, with an overhang off the bow of 4.95 m. This significantly restricted visibility from the tug’s bridge. Consequently, the navigators were required to exercise special caution when navigating narrow sections and during lock passage.

The crew of the tug “OT-2080” handled the task brilliantly. Towing operations were conducted around the clock. The cargo was delivered on time, in full and in perfect condition.

Regarding barge ballasting:

Ballasting operations were carried out by the shipowner’s specialists in accordance with the design document “Justification for the Stowage, Securing, and Carriage of Heavy/Large-Size Cargo.”

The tug provided electrical power for the ballast system, eliminating the need for shore-based power supply.
